The YMCA at 150: A History of the YMCA of Greater New York 1852-2002 by Pamela Bayless, In 1852, a group of young men met in the neighborhood now known as SoHo and formed an association to help newcomers adapt to the bustling metropolis of New York. They formed the Young Men's Christian Association of New York. A Year later, another YMCA took root across the East River in the sister city of Brooklyn In 150 years, the YMCA has grown from its initial evangelical orientation to serve New Yorkers of all faiths, races, and classes, men and women alike. Today, in its many branches and in many more programs in neighborhoods and schools, the YMCA offers everything from health and educational courses to employment programs, child care, and residential accommodations in all corners of the city. This richly illustrated book is not only the definitive history of New York's YMCA. It is also a larger story of social change and organizational response to waves of immigrants, to war and depression, to struggles for opportunity and for racial, gender, and civil rights. From the eve of the Civil War to the aftermath of September 11, 2001, the YMCA has been an essential part of the city's fabric. This book is the record of that achievement.

He was the second son of Viscount Belgrave, who succeeded to the earldom of Grosvenor in 1802 and would be created Marquess of Westminster in 1831, and Lady Eleanor Egerton, the daughter of the first Earl of Wilton. Wilton, Wiltshire - Wilton is a town in Wiltshire, (of which it was once the county town), England, with a rich heritage dating back to the Anglo-Saxons. Today it is dwarfed by its larger and more famous neighbour, Salisbury, but still has a range of notable shops and attractions, including Wilton House. Wilton Windmill - The Wilton windmill is a five floor brick tower mill located on a chalk ridge between the villages of Wilton and Great Bedwyn in the southern English county of Wiltshire. It was built in 1821 because the construction of the Kennet and Avon Canal had included the canalisation of the River Bedwyn which had previously powered several water mills in the area.
